In May, I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with my Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science. As I entered college with a plan to pursue Physical Therapy, the Lord has changed my life in ways that I could not imagine.
Looking back on my time at UNCW, the most defining part of my college experience has been my time in Reformed University Fellowship. The Lord abundantly provided deep friendships, mentors, and deep truthful knowledge of who Jesus is in my life as a college student and who He will continue to be in my life through RUF. RUF is a ministry at over 170 campuses across the nation that reaches and equips students to serve Christ.
In the most self-seeking environment of college where the world is calling you to pursue many clubs, jobs, internships, status, perfect grades, it can be challenging to find a sense of firmness and somewhere to go when you come to the end of yourself. Through the RUF staff at UNCW, I learned that no matter how high the status we reach or how low, we will never be satisfied. We were created with a longing to be seen and loved and our weakness and failures is exactly what qualifies us to come to the Lord.
RUF at UNCW was the first place that I felt truly seen, fully known, and yet still loved. In turn, the Lord showed me that He too sees me, fully knows me, and still loves me. This ministry completely changed the way that I view Jesus in my life and who He is to me.
the Lord put a calling and desire on my heart to explore full-time ministry. He answered my prayer and I have committed to a two year internship with RUF at Virginia Tech.
As an intern, I will lead small group Bible studies, meet one-on-one with students, coordinate social events, plan conferences, meet with my ordained campus minister, and much more! Each week at large group we will pray, sing, and be taught by the word of God! I only hope that the Lord would use me to lead other girls to the feet of Jesus on their college campus.
PRAYER! I am asking for lots of prayer for myself, the students, and staff at Virginia Tech. That the Lord would be present in our hearts as we enter into the next two years!
I am expectant that He is going to do abundantly more than I can ask or imagine in Blacksburg.
GIVING! Because of the impact that RUF has had on my life, I am excited that I have the gift of asking others to join with me in the work that the Lord will do through me on campus at VT. I will need to raise funds to support myself while I am on campus for the next 2 years.
My fundraising goal is $45,000! In order to get to campus, I need to be 85% funded by the end of July. This can be in monthly gifts or a one time gift!
I am so grateful that through my ministry, I am able to ask you to partner with me and see the fruit on campus at VT through my monthly newsletters!
